If ever someone asks my husband what his wife spends too much money on, I can guarantee one of two answers: Shoes or Sports tickets...
Some men might think that the second one there (sports tix) would make me perfect... maybe <grin> but I do have to admit that between Nascar tickets and Predators tickets I probably spend too much.

I called the ticket supplier for Nascar to inquire on tickets the 2007 Daytona 500 - and found out they had some killer deals for the July 2006 Daytona 400. So, I'll admit that Daytona was a bit of a whim. So, we got tickets to the race (on the superstretch), hospitality passes, a driver meeting with Carl Edwards, free drinks (Diet Pepsi for me, Bud Light for Marc), track/pit passes, and the works. It was great. So great, in fact, that I fully intend on making it a Marc & Stephanne Annual Outting. We had a blast (minus the 4-hour traffic jam in Atlanta... I REALLY hate Atlanta. We had the top down on the jeep and the mirror temp read 131-degrees at one point. My sweat had sweat). Anyhow, back to the trip... It didn't hurt that Marc's mom & stepdad have a condo on the beach, so we were able to stay for free... It was beautiful and we enjoyed their company.
The morning after the 400 I woke Marcus up at o'dark-thirty to go 'deep sea' fishing. It was a 4-hour 'party' boat trip which means it's not all that deep, it's barely considered sea, and the term 'fishing' is used rather loosely. So, I caught ONE keeper red-line snapper, Marc and I both caught some 'wanna be' fish (aka too small), and most of the folks around us had apparently caught a buzz the night before and spent most of the trip hurling off the side of the boat. Lemme tell ya, even if you don't get sea sick, being around a bunch of barfing men (while you are handling stinky, dead cigar minnows or cut up squid) is just about enough to MAKE you sick. And the seas weren't even THAT rough (maybe 3-5 foot waves). Ick.
Sunday we also ate a place on the strip (A1A) called "Bubba Gump Shrimp Co." and it was really darn good. Monday we walked the beach and then headed for home...

I took a ZILLION pictures, a lot of which are dups so I only uploaded a small portion. You can view them either as a compiled video or individually thumb'd.
Videos -
I didn't take as many videos here... ok, maybe I did... This is my compiled video, most of it is Carl Edwards talking in our hospitality tent (about his Men's Fitness photoshoot, 'going' in the seat, and who the biggest jokster is among the drivers) as well as fireworks and anything else that caught my fancy. Add my usual disclaimer here about "this is really huge" and "download speeds might take awhile" and blah blah blah. <grin>
