Funkdubie.com - Life in the Fast Lane...

Yes, I'm the HockeyChic... that doesn't matter though - we can be loyal to more than one sport...

Talk about cool. I've fallen in love with yet another sport... first Hockey... then football... now Nascar!

Nascar is, by far, more than cars just going in a circle... once you get "it" (whatever "it" is) you find yourself addicted to a great sport...

I've decided to try to hit at least a track a year, 2006 is the Year of the Monster Mile and the Daytona 400! Dover, DE and Daytona, FL here we come! I'm thinking for 2007 we'll hit Martinsville and Daytona again... I'll update the page after we go to each...

Daytona 400, Daytona, FL July 2006 :

I'll admit that Daytona was a bit of a whim. I called the ticket supplier to see about getting tickets for the 500, which is held in February, when she told me that they had tix left for the 400... so, we got tickets to the race (on the superstretch), hospitality passes, a driver meeting with Carl Edwards, free drinks (Diet Pepsi for me, Bud Light for Marc), track/pit passes, and the works. It was great. So great, in fact, that I fully intend on making it a Marc & Stephanne Annual Outting. We had a blast. Didn't hurt that Marc's mom has a condo on the beach, so we were able to stay for free... It was beautiful.

Monster Mile, Dover, DE, June 2006 :

We decided to head to Dover for our mutual birthday gifts to each other... feel free to see everything we did on vacation! Or watch the 12-minute video of the race!

Bristol, August 2005:

We skidded into some tickets a few days before the race... complete with a hospitality tent including having Travis Kvapil at dinner, free drinks (non-alcoholic, thanks!), and Track Tour passes...

In 2005 I had the EXTREME pleasure to head to Bristol Motor Speedway this year and watch the Nascar Nextel Cup Sharpie 500. It was LOUD, crowded, stinky and hot...

...and I loved every last second of it. I'd say it was even worth the mammoth sized blisters I got! Marc warned me to wear some sensible shoes, but sometimes women don't understand the meaning of those little words. Anyhow, here's some scenes from Bristol and, when I get time to add them, some pages on our favorite drivers!

#20 - Tony Stewart:

Tony is Marc's choice - and I like him almost as much!

# 9 - Kasey Kahne, the other Red Car :

To those of us who AREN'T "Jewn-yer" fans, it's hard to love a car that's red...

# 29 - Kevin Harvick:

There's something about 'hot-heads' I guess...

The "love him or hate him " guys:

Sometimes you just can't help but like people...
