Funkdubie.com - They really ARE crazy...

Funkdubie.com - Lunatics on the loose... buckle down your harness...

We never said we were sane, only that we enjoy doing things together.

Well, my thirtysomethingth birthday is coming up and my friend, Steve, decided to get me a once-in-a-lifetime experience: Jumping out of an airplane at 2.5 miles up (or 14,500 feet). At first I told him he was crazy and that I wouldn't go to Knoxville (where he lives) for it... so he said he'd come here. Then I told him I couldn't afford it... so he said he'd pay. With all of my excuses gone, what was I supposed to do?! I know - any normal person would have said "you are SO crazy" followed quickly by: "No WAY!" Well, I have never said I was normal... I saw it as a dare. So, I agreed. I got home from Knoxville and asked Marc if he wanted to go because it's been a life-long dream of his to do this sort of craziness (the two of them [Steve and Marc] must be danger-junkies). He agreed and we set a date...

Never fails, the best intentions are often laid to waste. I had pre-purchased tickets to the Predators/Sharks playoff games and they just happened to fall on the weekend we were supposed to be crazy. So we had to reschedule. My Preds lost and there was no hope (um, I mean there was no misfortune) to NOT go on the next scheduled date of May 6, 2006. So Steve came down and we all met for dinner the night before. I'm not a drinker, so I was fine at 6 a.m. on Saturday when it was time to get up and drive. Steve? Not so much <grin>. Regardless, we all went down and we all had a blast, though Steve wasn't really liking the post-chute spin maneuvers much. I can't blame him, I was a little nauseated by those (motion sickness can get to you when you do this!!!). Overall, it was incredible and I recommend it for those who are NOT faint at heart. Steve: Marc and I both appreciate the opportunity and loved every moment of it.
